When we don't take time to hear the word of the Lord, we risk forsaking God, the fountain of living water.
Hear ye the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob

We are children of a loving Heavenly Father who knows us. Coming to earth is part of His plan for our eternal progression and happiness.
"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
- Jeremiah 1:5
Jesus is the source of peace.
For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river
- Isaiah 66:12
I have felt joy in the service of the Lord.
Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart
- Isaiah 65:14
Where can we glimpse the majesty of what God offers us? Where can we gain an eternal perspective and think celestial?
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
- Isaiah 64:4
Jesus read these verses in Nazareth and said, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears" (Luke 4:16–21):
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn
- Isaiah 61
The Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
- Isaiah 60:19
Hope in Jesus Christ!
And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression
- Isaiah 59:20
I am grateful for the blessings of the fast including a closer relationship with the Lord.
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.
- Isaiah 58:6-7,9
Humility and a contrite heart enable us to be in the Lord's presence.
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit
- Isaiah 57:15
As I listen to general conference talks and study Come, Follow Me, I find the Lord's word enriching my heart and mind. I'm so grateful that the heavens are open!
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
- Isaiah 55:10-11
With everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
- Isaiah 54:8
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.... Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows
- Isaiah 53:3-4
"Jesus Christ descended below all things and suffered “pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind”; therefore, He comprehends our suffering, is filled with mercy, and knows how to succor us according to our infirmities."
- By Elder Kevin J. Hathaway, October 2026
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him
that bringeth good tidings,
that publisheth peace;
that bringeth good tidings of good,
that publisheth salvation;
that saith unto Zion,
Thy God reigneth!
- Isaiah 52:7
"Our testimony is not a talent to be hidden. It is a gift to be shared—with grateful hearts and in a spirit of humility and love."
- Elder Gérald Caussé
It is so comforting that we have the Son of God as our Advocate with the Father.
"Thy God ... pleadeth the cause of his people"
- Isaiah 51:22

One of the great messages from this general conference is the power of covenants to point us to Jesus Christ and access His power.
"Behold, the Lord God will help me"
- Isaiah 50:9
The Lord has all power to redeem and deliver us, to comfort and strength us, and to guide us.
"Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver?"
- Isaiah 50:2

We can always count on Jesus Christ to do what He says, to keep His promises. He has the power to do so and will. And we will hear Him in general conference.
I have spoken it,
I will also bring it to pass;
I have purposed it,
I will also do it.
- Isaiah 46:11

I believe in Jesus Christ.
"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else."
- Isaiah 45:22
